British Curling’s wheelchair team bounced back from a narrow loss this morning to claim their first win at the Euro Super League in Jonkoping by beating Korea 7-6 this afternoon.
They battled back after losing a costly four at the second end and claimed the win with Gregor Ewan playing an impressive shot through a port with his last stone before noting that the result was a team effort and a welcome confidence boost at the start of the weekend.
“It was as if a different team turned up this afternoon which resulted in better outcomes,” acknowledged Gregor Ewan, who skipped the team in both matches on the opening day.
“More shots were made and making the right shot at the right time certainly helps. Things got away from us a bit with that four, but we managed to come back together and claw a win out of it.”
The six player squad are being rotated at this event and will be back in action tomorrow morning against hosts Sweden’s second team in the event.
