After making it to successive finals on their first trip to Canada this season, Team Morrison are hoping it will be third time lucky as they head into the AMJ Campbell Shorty Jenkins Classic this week (20-24 September).
Rebecca Morrison, Gina Aitken, Jen Dodds, Sophie Sinclair and Sophie Jackson have made an excellent start as they adapt to a five-player system, reaching the finals of both the Stu Sells Oakville Tankard and last weekend's KW Fall Classic.
While they came up just short in both, they are consequently pleased with their form as they move across Ontario to Cornwall.
“Whilst on Sunday we were disappointed not to finish off the weekend with one more win and it was difficult to come second in two competitions back to back, there are only positives we can take from having two really good results in our first Canada trip of the season," said skip Morrison.
“To be getting consistent results when we are mixing our line-up constantly, it shows that we have a good thing going here with a five man team."
This week's field includes the host nation's former Olympic champion Jennifer Jones and Switzerland's reigning world champions Team Tirinzoni, but having won a European championship bronze medal last season, even before Olympic gold medallist Dodds joined the team, they know they can mix it with the best.
“The field is strong this week, but I think the lead up we have had to this event could not have gone much better and we are fully prepared to take on some big teams and hopefully get ourselves into those play-off stages again," said Morrison.
"We start off with a very tough game against Tirinzoni but we took them to the last shot at the World Championships back in March and we are looking to finish with a win this time around."
British Curling's men's teams have also performed well in Canada in recent weeks, with world champions Team Mouat beating compatriots Team Whyte in the final of the Stu Sells Oakville Tankard, while youngsters Team Craik reached the quarter-finals at the KW Fall Classic last weekend.
All three are in action at the Shorty Jenkins with Mouat meeting the USA's 2018 Olympic champions Team Shuster in their opener, Whyte's men starting their campaign against Italy's world number three ranked Team Retornaz and Craik's rink facing Nova Scotia's Team Purcell.
