Team Muirhead Reckon Time Is Right For Swiss Competition Ahead of Euros

Posted on

Team Muirhead are heading to Switzerland to complete their competitive preparations for the European Championships in Braehead which get underway next week (19-26 November).

The Olympic bronze medallists have opted to compete in the International ZO Women’s Curling Tournament in Switzerland this weekend (11-13 November) in order to maximise their chances for the Europeans.

“With the grand slam taking place just now we decided against travelling back over to Canada to play in that tournament due to the short turn around before the Europeans,” said Skip Eve Muirhead.

“So we opted for Switzerland instead. It's very important at this time we get competitive games under our belts in the run up, especially as Anna (Anna Sloan) has returned from injury only a few weeks ago.

“During this weekend we will be looking to continue to develop the work we have been doing with (tactical coach) Glenn Howard to build a solid base going into the Europeans in Glasgow. It is also important we relax and enjoy this time and keep all pressure low!”

The Scots are further represented at this tournament by Team Aitken and Team Hazel Smith.
